Medical negligence claims also require specialized treatment. It is not enough to show that you had a bad result from medical treatment. You must be able to prove that the physician fell below the standard of care for physicians in his locality or in a similar locality and that the failure was the cause of your damages. This must all be proven by expert medical testimony in most cases. Medical negligence cases are very expensive to investigate and try. Again, the earlier you can get in touch with a lawyer, the better your chances will be.

Ruthanne Murphy is a retired R.N. She has the skills to review medical records and find what is important.

Chip Baker and Gerry Schulze have also been active in the medical negligence field.  Gerry Schulze has handled several important reported cases before the Arkansas Supreme Court.  In Broussard v. St. Edward's Mercy Health System, 2012 Ark. 14, Gerry showed that the "same specialty" requirement of the medical malpractice act was unconstitutional under the Arkansas Constitution.  The Arkansas Supreme Court struck the "same specialty" requirement.
